It's been some time since I posted anything here. The main reason is that I'm being messed around by publishers. It's time to get into self-publishing. At least I'll know whether my books rubbish or just doesn't fit their guidelines. Of course, there's always the chance that readers might like Time's Askew.

I'm starting off by doing some housework. Today was tidying up the web site.

Press Release

The first book, The Long Way Round, by local author Peter Apps and is due to be released on March 1^st. It is a science fiction novel and although the characters and Earth based settings are British, it is being published in the U.S.

Problems with the printer have meant that Peter is still waiting for copies and is hoping that further delays doesn't mean that he has to cancel the launch party at the last minute.

">It's going to be a close run thing,” Peter said, “Amazon and Barnes & Noble are waiting for supplies as well so it could mean that the first copies sold worldwide will be in Sheerness. It all adds to the excitement.”

The launch party is at the Castle Tavern in Sheerness on 13^th March from 2pm. If the books don't arrive on time, Peter will take orders for signed copies and forward them as soon as possible.

Other local authors will have copies of their work on display so if you want to collect signed first editions, talk about books in general or discuss your own writing ambitions, come along and someone will be there to chat with you over a cup of tea or a pint.

Much to my surprise, my first book is being published soon. The name of this website comes from the initials of the main character Stuart Johnson - so it's sjtales

The Long Way Round, is being released 1st March 2010. If you enjoy the first book then look out for the sequel which is just as exciting as the first one.

Since I'm just starting out the site is small, so it won't take you long to browse and if you want to contact me for a chat, feel free. Better still buy my book and tell me whether you like it or not.
